Where Code
Meets Biology.
CODEDNA explores the intersection of computation, technology, and biological systems.
CODE / DNA
Introduction
Two disciplines, one company
CODEDNA is a technology + biology company. Software, computation, and engineering on one side; living systems, measurement, and the laboratory on the other.
The company is young, and its direction is still being shaped. This site is its first public statement — a record of where the work starts, not where it ends.
The intersection
Technology × Biology
Technology
Computation, software, and engineering discipline.
Biology
Living systems, measurement, and the laboratory.
The work that matters happens at the boundary — where software must answer to the realities of biology, and biology receives instruments it was never designed for.
Areas of interest
Where our attention currently sits
Broad directions we are exploring — not an offering, and not yet a roadmap.
-
Computational methods for biological data
Turning biological measurements into things software can reason about — representation, analysis, and interpretation.
-
Software systems for life-science workflows
Tooling built with engineering discipline for work that happens at the bench, in the field, and in between.
-
Interfaces between engineering and the laboratory
The seam where instruments, protocols, and code meet — usually the least polished and most consequential part.
-
Exploratory research and prototyping
Small, fast experiments to find out whether a question is worth asking properly.
Philosophy
Our working premise
Code is becoming one of the primary instruments for working with living systems.
The people who build that future will come from both sides of the seam. We believe they should be honest about how much of it remains unknown — and disciplined about the parts that are.
